We love to share the latest updates on what’s happening across our Centres and Foundation, especially when young people’s lives have been transformed for the better.
Last summer at ASC Birmingham, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of young people from Children Always First, an independent fostering agency, to our centre for a day of enriching multi-activity watersports.
As soon as she turned 15, Milly started volunteering at ASC Portsmouth and trained over the summer to be an Assistant Dingy and Windsurfing Instructor. This was all part of the Charitable Programs at ASC Portsmouth and was funded by the ASF.
As I reach the end of my time at the Andrew Simpson Centre (ASC) Reading it feels like a good point to reflect on just how far the Centre has come. I started in the cold and lonely March of 2018 when it was just me (Senior Instructor) and the Centre Manager. We had a selection of equipment, a handful of casual staff, and lots of potential.
