This year, over 1000 participants joined us to explore a variety of watersports and land-based activities. From celebrating long-standing traditions like the cardboard boat race in Portland to building exciting new partnerships such as Flow Together in Birmingham, our Open Days continue to grow as an exciting and inclusive introduction to watersports.
Over the last 4 weeks students for Atlantic Academy Secondary School have been coming down to ASC Portland for a funded sailing series.
Andrew Simpson Centre Birmingham was thrilled to welcome a record number of attendees to their Bartley Green centre on Saturday 17th May 2025 for the Flow Together Watersports Festival, a celebration of collaboration, community, and the transformative power of sport.
ASC Portland was once again delighted to host a fantastic day of racing for this year’s instalment of the Millfield Regatta.
Participants from Royal Yachting Association (RYA), Aston Villa Foundation, Recre8Now, Made Mentors, Every Child Needs a Mentor, Vision For All, First Class Foundation, Urban Devotion Birmingham, and TIES Mentoring attended our Bartley Green Centre for a morning of on water activities to celebrate the success of the SAFE programme.
ASC Portland recently welcomed young people from the Jon Egging Trust to take part in a morning of activities and watersports focusing on leadership.
ASC Portland’s Pupil Engagement Programme (PEP) uses sailing as a tool to focus on specific attributes such as; teamwork, communication, determination, confidence, creativity and independence.
All of the not-for-profit Andrew Simpson Centres are proud to deliver Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) sessions on behalf of local councils to enable children from low-income families the opportunity to experience different watersport sessions.
