While the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix thrilled crowds with high-speed racing on the Solent last weekend (19–20 July), a powerful legacy of connection and inspiration was taking shape along the shoreline.
The Andrew Simpson Foundation (ASF) and 1851 Trust are leading a new community programme to be delivered in Portsmouth this July, the programme aims to provide an inspiring and exciting learning experience alongside the highly anticipated Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix Portsmouth event.
This year, over 1000 participants joined us to explore a variety of watersports and land-based activities. From celebrating long-standing traditions like the cardboard boat race in Portland to building exciting new partnerships such as Flow Together in Birmingham, our Open Days continue to grow as an exciting and inclusive introduction to watersports.
Over the last 4 weeks students for Atlantic Academy Secondary School have been coming down to ASC Portland for a funded sailing series.
Andrew Simpson Centre Birmingham was thrilled to welcome a record number of attendees to their Bartley Green centre on Saturday 17th May 2025 for the Flow Together Watersports Festival, a celebration of collaboration, community, and the transformative power of sport.
ASC Portland was once again delighted to host a fantastic day of racing for this year’s instalment of the Millfield Regatta.
Participants from Royal Yachting Association (RYA), Aston Villa Foundation, Recre8Now, Made Mentors, Every Child Needs a Mentor, Vision For All, First Class Foundation, Urban Devotion Birmingham, and TIES Mentoring attended our Bartley Green Centre for a morning of on water activities to celebrate the success of the SAFE programme.
ASC Portland recently welcomed young people from the Jon Egging Trust to take part in a morning of activities and watersports focusing on leadership.
