The IAPS 2026 Sailing Regatta was once again held with us at ASC Portland, on the shores of WPNSA – for two days of exciting school racing.

We welcomed 64 boats from 24 schools with 128 participants taking to the water.

The under 11s had an exciting day of windy racing on the Wednesday. Despite the tricky conditions all the sailors did amazing, particularly as for some it was the windiest, they had ever sailed in. We were able to run three successful races, seeing some brilliant sailing and great sportsmanship from all the sailors.

All the sailors showed incredible resilience always smiling even during capsizes!

Congratulations to Walhampton School who took first place in both as a team and with Toby Champkin and Billy Bubb taking first boat overall.

Thursday couldn’t have been more different for the Under 13 racing where we had light wind and lots of sunshine. We managed to run 2 races before the wind dropped making the conditions no longer suitable for racing. We saw some great sailing from everyone, light winds meant that sailors had to use their skills and knowledge to get the most out of their boats!

Congratulations to Walhampton School who took first place as a team and to Evan Hannaby and Annabelle Poore from Kingswood House School taking first boat overall.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for 2 incredible days of racing, particularly to the parents and teachers who facilitated their young people getting on the water. Also thanks to the team from IAPS and the WPNSA for helping to organise and run the event.
