Activity overview
This action-packed course guides you through effective communication techniques and practical teaching methods for both afloat and ashore sessions. Over five days, you’ll develop the skills needed to confidently deliver beginner windsurfing lessons and manage students in a safe, fun, and engaging environment.
Guided throughout by experienced RYA Windsurf Trainers and moderated on the final day by an independent trainer, you will be continuously supported and assessed to ensure you meet the high standards required to become an RYA Start Windsurf Instructor. By the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence and competence to teach both the Start Windsurfing course and Youth Windsurfing Scheme Stages 1 and 2.

Prerequisites & course minimum requirements
Participants must hold RYA Powerboat Level 2, RYA First Aid, RYA Safe and Fun, and the RYA Intermediate Windsurfing (Non-Planing) certificate. These prerequisites ensure you have the essential skills and knowledge to safely and confidently teach beginner windsurfing.
