Activity overview
The RYA Powerboat Instructor course is designed for experienced powerboaters who want to inspire and teach others. Across four days, you will develop your instructional techniques both afloat and ashore, learning how to deliver engaging, safe, and effective sessions. The first day of the course includes the mandatory skills assessment, ensuring all candidates are operating at the required level before progressing further.
Led by an RYA Powerboat Trainer, you will receive continuous support and guidance throughout the course. On the final day, your progress will be moderated by an independent Trainer who has not been part of your training, providing a fair and objective assessment.
By the end of the course, you will be confident in preparing, delivering, and managing training sessions, as well as communicating effectively with students and customers.
