Learn to Wingsurf

Take your first steps into the exciting world of wingsurfing with this beginner-friendly course, the perfect starting point in the RYA Wingsurfing scheme.

Activity overview

This introductory course gives you the foundations of wingsurfing in a fun and supportive environment. No prior experience is needed, just enthusiasm to get on the water and try something new. The course is split into two key parts: flying the wing ashore and then getting afloat to put it into practice.

By the end, you will have the essential skills to harness the power of the wing, balance on the board, and sail across the wind. You will also learn how to gybe and return to your starting point with confidence.

What to expect

  • Learn the basics of wing control ashore
  • Understand how to translate wind power into forward motion
  • Practice board balance and steering techniques
  • Get afloat and travel across the wind
  • Introduction to gybing and returning to your start point
